Aaron Segal is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Bioethics. He received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2022, where his dissertation investigated the nature of imperfect duties such as beneficence and gratitude. At the NIH, he is working on issues in research ethics related to the benefits and burdens of participating in medical research, including questions about research risks, compensation, fairness, and altruism.
